Please join Trails 2000 for Trailwork on Wednesday, May 16, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Mike’s Trail in Horse Gulch. Volunteers should meet at the top of Mike’s Trail in Horse Gulch; Mike’s is a distance from the trailhead so please plan accordingly and feel free to ride or run to the worksite. No experience is necessary for trailwork, and Trails 2000 will provide the necessary instruction and safety tool talk, all tools, gloves, and snacks for the entire crew.
When: Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 4:00 – 6:30 p.m.; please come for as much or as little time as you can.
Where/Directions: Mike’s Trail, meet at Mike’s Trail in Horse Gulch; from Main Avenue in Durango, take College Drive to 8th Avenue and turn a right. Take a left at 3rd Street (by Horse Gulch Health Campus, before the Sonic) and park in the Horse Gulch trailhead parking lot. From the trailhead, ride or run up the gravel road/trail to the Meadow Loop to Stacy’s then onto Mike’s. Crews will be near the top of Mike’s with tools and instruction. Please note: Mike’s is a distance from the trailhead, so please plan accordingly and feel free to ride or run to the worksite.
What to wear: Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes or boots, long pants, shirt (long or short sleeved), sun hat, sunscreen, and bring a water bottle and rain jacket (optional). Trails 2000 will provide all tools, instruction, and snacks.
