Trails 2000 is pleased to invite volunteers to trailwork on Horse Gulch Trails on Wednesday, September 13, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. Crews will work on the Meadow loop and should meet at the intersection of Horse Gulch Road and the Meadow loop, accessed from the Horse Gulch trailhead off 8th Avenue and 3rd Street in Durango. No experience is necessary for trailwork, and Trails 2000 will provide the necessary instruction and safety tool talk, all tools, gloves, and water and snacks for the entire crew.
When: September 13, 4-6:30 p.m. (GoogleCal, iCal/Outlook); please come for as much or as little time as you can.
Where/Directions: Horse Gulch Trails, meet at the intersection of Horse Gulch Road and the Meadow loop to work on the Meadow loop; from Main Avenue in Durango, take College Drive to 8th Avenue and turn right. Take a left at 3rd Street (by Horse Gulch Health Campus, before the Sonic) and park in the trailhead parking lot. From there, walk/ride up Horse Gulch Road (approximately 0.7 miles) to the signed intersection. Here you will meet to sign in for details and directions.
What to wear: Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes or boots, long pants, shirt (long or short sleeved), sun hat, sunscreen, and bring a water bottle and rain jacket (optional). Trails 2000 will provide all tools, instruction, water and snacks.
