Dalla Mountain Park– From Main Street head west on 25th Street, it turns into Junction and then turn right onto Birket Street after a mile or so.  The trail starts at the dead end of Birket Street.  The beginning of this ride actually starts on Animas City Mountain as the trailhead sign indicates.  Ride up the singletrack from the deadend and follow the obvious worn trail; ignoring the social/game trail offshoots.   After about a mile or so of climbing the singletrack dumps out onto a saddle and an overlook of north Main Street in Durango.  Head up this open area to the north (left from your singletrack climb) and turn left on the unsigned singletrack just past the telephone poles.  Follow this rocky trail over rolling terrain for several miles.  From time to time you’ll enter areas with large boulders where the route finding may seem difficult.  These are trails to climbing areas but just parallel the cliff band above you to your right and you’ll find your way.  Eventually the trail starts to descend to your general left and then begins to loop back.  Route finding is confusing here, but there are 4 major splits to look for: take a left at the first singletrack away from the descending doubletrack, at the second split take a right away from the singletrack heading uphill and head down the wide singletrack, take a left uphill on the very obvious doubletrack at split #3, and finally, keep a sharp eye for a singletrack diving off to the left at the end of this same doubletrack descent.  Take this singletrack sightly uphill and reconnect to the major saddle overlook at the beginning of the route.  Descend back down to Birket Street via the same trail.  Ride/hike length is approximately 8 miles.
