Saturday, June 25 through Sunday, June 26
Trails 2000 is responsible for one of the longest adopted sections of trail on the Colorado Trail from the top of Junction Creek Road at Champion Venture down to Gudy's Rest. (We normally help the San Juan Mountains Association maintain from Gudy's to town, too).
Please join us in this spectacular setting, here are the details:
Depart, Saturday June 25
Meet at the LaPlata County Fairgrounds parking lot at 6:30 AM
We will load up with Hermosa Tours and shuttle up to the top of Junction Creek Road
Arrive at 8:30am
Hike in to site and work the section from the road down Wall's Gulch (approximately 4.5 miles)
We'll set up camp at 3:00 pm and eat dinner around 6:00 pm
Sunday, June 26
9:00 am breakfast and break down camp
10:00 am leave from camp and hike back up to Champion Venture, completing the projects from Saturday
2:00 pm arrive at Junction Creek Road and meet Hermosa Tours
4;00 pm arrive back at La Plata County Fairgrounds
Trails 2000 will provide you breakfast lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. All food sponsored by Nature's Oasis.
The Turner's will bring your tent/sleeping bag and one pillow case of personal belongings in on horsepack.
Please pack extremely LIGHT! Yet be prepared for an afternoon monsoon. We will have extra water and all food and snacks on hand.
Please bring a full Camelbak and room for a sandwich in your pack.
