Trails 2000 is pleased to invite volunteers to trailwork on Horse Gulch Trails on Wednesdays, August 16 and 23, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Crews should meet at the Horse Gulch trailhead, off 8th Avenue and 3rd Street in Durango, from where they will hike or bike to the work site. No experience is necessary for trailwork, and Trails 2000 will provide the necessary instruction and safety tool talk, all tools, gloves, and water and snacks for the entire crew.
When: Wednesdays, August 16 (add to GoogleCal, iCal/Outlook) & August 23 (add to GoogleCal, iCal/Outlook), 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.; please come for as much or as little time as you can.
Where/Directions: Horse Gulch Trails, meet at the Horse Gulch trailhead; from Main Avenue in Durango, take College Drive to 8th Avenue and turn right. Take a left at 3rd Street (by Horse Gulch Health Campus, before the Sonic) and park in the Trailhead parking lot where you will sign in at the work truck for details and directions.
What to wear: Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes or boots, long pants, shirt (long or short sleeved), sun hat, sunscreen, and bring a water bottle and rain jacket (optional). Trails 2000 will provide all tools, instruction, water and snacks.
